| partners | | | Our first hike in Canyonlands National Park was on the Upheaval Dome overlook Trail. This is a short .8 mile hike to an overlook of upheaval dome. A little bit of elevation gain from the trail head but not terrible. The trail is marked and easy to follow. The first overlook is about .4 miles in but continuing on the trail another .4 you come to the second. Really windy day and at times you thought the wind would blow you over the edge. There are explanatory signs at the first overlook explaining what they think caused it, two trains of thought are, salt dome the other meteor. |
