About my 6th time spending the three days after Thanksgiving in Aravaipa......but my first time back since the big flood -
Observations: seems a bit easier hiking, albiet with quite a few miles of naked riverbank where stands of Willows once stood. The power of the flood is/was astounding! 20" diameter Cottonwoods sheared off at their bases and logjams 25' high. The colors were perfect as was the weather (in spite of the 'doom and gloom' forecast). The old campsite across from Horse Canyon is no longer, but there is a new one a bit downstream from the old one. We explored Virgus and Hells Hole Canyons as day hikes in all their colorful glory.
