This was one of those “what was I thinking!?” sort of hikes. I mean, low elevation in May? It was pushing 90 and I got a late start since I bought a gear hauler for my CRV that morning. The gear hauler is pretty sweet and I wanted to test it out on a trail, so I pulled it to the Florida Canyon trailhead. Since I was there, why not hike it?

My dad would routinely hike in the Superstitions and in the South Mountain preserve in Phoenix in the summer. This hike reminded me that I am not my dad.
