It was a nice day and I decided to go revisit this hike that I did around this time 2 years ago.

We parked near the Buckeye Copper Mine Well and hiked for about 2 miles on the road and through some open country. This was the only section of the hike where there was some flat ground without lava rocks everywhere.

The distance and elevation gain does not tell the whole story with this hike: there is no trail and there are lava rocks and boulders everywhere. Not to mention a really steep climb at the end. That said, the rock scrambling was fun. Looking at Woolsey from a distance you'd wonder how you could get up there, but it is doable.

It was nice to do this hike again, but I am not sure that I will be back for a third time, at least not real soon.
