| no partners | | Went over to Cali for a few days to check things out. Spent most of it in the south end of the park. First hike up a canyon/valley to a circa 1930's rock line shack. Spent some time covering some old Indian ways in that area, successful with following the pottery shard line to various old small boulder shelters.
Next hike was up a canyon, no beta, just an aside in an old guidebook. Wonderful canyon geologically, a bit harder with small dryfalls and some rocks to contend with. Payoff at the large spread out hard to get to Palm Grove with some nice surface water. Only got thru the third clump of about 200 palms with all the debris choking the rocky chutes. Saw a small dead bighorn, did not look eaten.
Third hike I wasn't really interested in and decided not to do because of the road conditions and the fact that I saw lots of FLOWERS and I combined taking photos of that with some badlands mini slot hikes.
Good trip, lots of photos to process. |
