Desert reacquaintance at a mellow pace to catch up with Mel and soak up the beautiful and unique terrain. Didn't seem like a beastly hike considering it's low mileage, but the wind was really intense on the ridgeline and summit, where we had a pleasant interaction with the guy monitoring the Ring camera. He asked us to close his kegerator lid that had been blown open by the high winds. Consequently, we had to descend the summit to the leeward north slope of the ridgeline to enjoy our beers and white chocolate. On the sunny descent, we only encountered one shy viper and a bunch of black lizards.
