The high temp in Summerhaven today was supposed to be 81 or 82 but it felt much hotter at times on Oracle ridge. There wasn't a lot of tree cover the entire day. I finished an entire gallon of water with about a mile left in the hike, luckly it was after 6 pm when I ran out. On these very hot days when the hike is over 10 miles, I found that I need more than a gallon. As for the hike, it was all good trail and some roads. I thought there would be a small bushwhack in the end, but there was a road that went all the way up to Rice peak.
Total AEG with Marble peak and Rice peak was 2,700.
Total distance all day was 12.15 miles. |
