| partners | | We took a gamble on the weather, and it paid off. Despite rain nearly the entire drive from Phx to the trailhead, there were only a few sprinkles as we started hiking, and those ended within minutes. Obvious signs of recent heavy rain as we made our way up the Horton Creek Trail, but no issues for us. Mud was fairly minimal, and green was the color of the day. Plenty of water in the creek after the first half mile or so. We took advantage of the cool and cloudy (although humid) weather, and got plenty of pics of the creek.
Took a nice break at the spring before heading back downhill. While we saw nobody else on the way up, we passed about a dozen or more hikers on the way down. Some peeks of sun, and starting to get warm at the finish. We each grabbed some apples at the one apple tree we saw along the trail—tasty. Good hike, and good to see Bruce, Denny, and Greg again. |
