This was my second summit and I went this time with Tim T. My first summit was solo. The views of Paint rock from the North are some of the best views I've ever seen in Southern Arizona. The greens & yellows around the rock formation are like a painting. Maybe that's how this peak got it's name.
Now that we both knew the route to the "wall" near the top, we got there quickly this time. After having climbed the wall the first time, I found the 2nd time to be easier. Once you know the correct sequence of steps it becomes easier. We got several photos at the peak and had lunch. Once down the wall, we could relax a bit because we knew that was probably the hardest part of the hike all day... |
