After hiking a few miles, we saw more saguaros and large, wide and deep wash crossings. After crossing at least 10 washes we saw a low saddle up ahead and aimed for that. Shortly after that we realized we could skip the low saddle and just start climbing up the ridgeline. The ridgeline was pretty rocky in many places but we were able to follow animal trails up. When we got close to the high point, there was a flat area and we realized that we still needed to hike about 5 more minutes to get to the official high point. Once there we found a registry in a metal can. The registry was in bad shape but we were able to sign our names. We found 2 actual high points that were about 300 feet apart but the registry was found on the Eastern of the 2 peaks. After signing the registry, we took some photos, had a late lunch and then started back down the same ridgeline we came up. At the bottom, we decided to head further Northeast to take a dirt road back. This worked out well as the road was well maintained, but the road went a little out of the way. We followed this road back to the parking area. Crossed through an opening in the fence, walked over the railroad tracks and ended up where we parked originally.
