| no partners | | | 3 powder days! The hard way. Friday drove Yertle up no problems although I forgot the fan to blow heat from gas heater up to the front. Closed Kensho after 2 powder runs in the trees thanks to 65 knot winds! Not sure what the wind chill was, but I broke out the full face mask. Second trip I brought Noah up for a powder day 16” the night before. Took an extra hour thanks to a jack knifed semi below s turns on the 9. We still rode through -5 F w/out windchill until the lifts closed getting in 4+ hours of riding. About 2 pm it became obvious that they weren’t going to get the truck moved and the 70 was closed at this point so no way out of town. Got a hotel. Unfortunately after waiting 30+ min. For bus to airport parking lot which never came we walked across town to hotel in full gear in heavy snow. Checked in no shuttle to lot as well because traffic was not moving because exits out of town all closed. Was able to finally catch a bus to retrieve car and get to Walmart to pick up a couple suits for the jacuzzi’s at Noah’s request. Day two another 6” on top of the 16” still freaking cold, but at least the sun was out part of the day! Boy got to ride powder and now understands powder days. Thought he was going to miss day of school, but they closed school for the day thanks to -15F temps. Win win! Not many pics thanks to frigid temps. |
