| no partners | | I couldn't decide which trail to hit for my Birthday Day hike, but my job stepped in and made the choice for me. I had to get out and back in time to make it back to the house/office before 930am.
It's been a couple years since I hit this one. I was hoping for some clouds, but checking with the weather reports over the weekend, it was cloudless as predicted.
I arrived earlier enough to catch a few Milky Way shots (my first of 2024!). But, once Astro Twilight started, I enjoyed the cold brisk pre-dawn air.
In all the years I have been coming up here, I have never seen another human. I love the views and solitude this little hike offers up. There were, to my surprise, a large number of cars/trucks driving on the Apache Trail/HWY 88 at 5am-7am. I was wondering where they were all going. I didn't see any boats putting out. Who knows? Tortilla Flats? Workers at the Marina?
The sunrise was very sublte as expected and once Mr Sun made an appearance, it was my cue to start hiking down. A great way to start a Birthday & work week. |
