| no partners | | | Thanks to @chumley and others for the motivation to go make some tracks. The dirt road to the actual trailhead is closed in the winter and it makes a perfect shoeshoe route starting from the Caltrans Caples Lake Maintenance Station just off Highway 88. From the trailhead I continued up to the ridge for the views into Tahoe basin, then returned. Been 5 or 6 days since the last big storm, still good powder but starting to densify, around 4" typical step sink. |
