| no partners | | Extremely poor planning on my part led to this sort of backup hike. Oh well, it was still enough to tire out the dog. Basically walked up FS 278 then out to a point marked as 4271. Limited lake views, but views of the surrounding mountains were nice. Cloudy, with temps in the 50s. Saw four deer, two bull elk (or possibly the same elk twice) and a few chipmunks. The road only had two dirtbikers, a guy on a RZR who offered us a ride (declined, as I hate those things), a jeep, and one guy parked near my truck as we finished. Chatted with him for a moment, he had five dogs, all Pointers, with him, and they were trying unsuccessfully to convince Harlow to play. |
