Short hike from Greaterville, Morning Star Mine to Kentucky Camp. My Grandson wanted to go on another hike and I thought this might be a good one especially since he has an interest in old mines. Started out at the Morning Star Mine where we spent a little time exploring the area. The mines have been gated off and the old wood shack that use to stand over the mine is no longer there.

The trail to Kentucky camp (AZT #5) follows a dirt road, FR163. Steep climb from the Morning Star mine for the first .75 miles then downhill the rest of the way. There were a couple of through AZT hikers at Kentucky camp, no one else. It is deer season so there were hunters along the road in. Great day for hiking with cool temps but not cold.
