| no partners | | Well I didnt have time to drive out to another AZ trail hike so I went for one
near Tucson Ive been wanting to do, esperero. Ive used this trail as a 'hotel'
for months while visiting Tucson camping about a mile in so Ive always always
wanted to do it. It was a nice sunny weekend. As others have noted the trail is hard,
up up up and up 4k+ ft. Once over the saddle I got to the stream and had a nice hour sunning
and dousing water over myself. Then the long winding climb to the top rewarded by
window rock where I camped one very windy night. Theres' just enough space there for
one body surrounded by rocks so you dont fall off the cliff ! Loved the divebomber
swallows. The trail was just reworked by a crew so it's very easy to follow, there
was water in the stream all the way to the top so I didnt need the mass in my pack
which caused my legs to lock up Monday morning ! They still hurt a week later. |
