Got started a little later than I would have liked, but I was on the trail (from the windmill) by 5:30. This use to be a loop that I would run. I fear those days are past, but I tried to keep a steady pace. I had a few hikers in front of me, so I opted to take Willow to the top and return on the Mesquite. Got drizzled on in the first hour, but after that it was just cloudy and humid. Surprisingly busy in the backside; 8 of the 10 hikers were near or beyond the Willow juncture. Saw one deer on the return about .6 miles from the Waddell TH. At least one other HAZ member was enjoying the weather in the White Tanks, as they a message on my car to have a good “run”. |
