| partners | | Hiking near Conway, New Hampshire we decided to visit two peaks nearby in the Green Hills Preserve. First half mile or so is the same but then we split off and headed for Middle Mountain. Mostly gradual ascent beneath the tree canopy until just below the summit. The top is capped by some granite where we had some views. Took a break on top to enjoy the scenery.
After the break we hiked back down same way to a junction that would work over to Peaked Mountain. Another 3/4 of a mile and we reached the summit and another nice view. We could see Middle Mountain and basic route where we had just hiked. After another break we hiked the backside trail down for more of a loop until it linked back up with the original trail near the bottom. Two peaks for the price of one hike! |
