Re: Coldwater Fire - Mogollon Rim Ranger District
I went to the Blue Ridge Reservoir yesterday. The north bound lane of the Beeline is closed from FR300 for about 3 miles. ADOT has a pace vehicle leading traffic back and forth on the south bound lane. I had to wait about 20~30 minutes for the pace car. The forest service had FR300 blocked off with ...

Re: RS - Voice & External Storage
@joebartels
I have the splits set to 1 mile. I did try the play button and that doesn't work. I don't hear voice on the start screen either.
About the SD cards, I was wondering if I missed something in the setup.
Thanks

RS - Voice & External Storage
After I updated to 3.1.28 I lost the voice audio on route scout. The only audio I hear is the nature sounds at the split internals. I uninstalled and reinstalled and have the same results.
Also is there an option to load the maps on the storage card ? I keep on running out of internal space.

Re: Route Scout - Waypoint Proximity Audio Alerts
@joebartels I make my route in Route MGR and add in Way-points. Then download the route to my Android phone. The proximity alert does go off at .3 / .2 miles, 500 feet, 50 feet and within 5 feet. Once I go past a way-point 'A', I don't remember hearing the proximity alarm going off again for way-Po...

Route Scout - Waypoint Proximity Audio Alerts
One option I think that would be useful is to have the proximity alarm go off every time you get neat a way-point. This would be very helpful on out and back hike where you have a way-point for a key turning point. Or have an option on the way-point where you set the proximity to go off once or ever...

Re: Copper Camp Loop 3/10/2012
I updated the description with the meet details. The meeting place & time is 6am @ the Wendy's in Fountain hills (Bee-Line and Shea) The access to the TH requires 4x4 vehicles. Let's carpool up to the TH. I can carry 2~3 passengers in my Jeep. The Sheep Creek usually has water, so it would be a ...

This loop starts at the Mormon Grove TH and takes Little Saddle Trail to Sheep Creek to Copper camp trail. We stop at the Copper camp and go cross country (on an old horse route) via Cypress Ridge over to the Sheep Creek trail (close to the site of the Sheep Creek cabin). Then take the Sheep Creek t...

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
When we went to the Mormon Grove TH yesterday, FR25 was pretty muddy from the campers and ATV'ers. The mud was about 4 inches deep. FR25A was perfect (no wet or snow at all). There was 1~2 inches of snow from 4,200 to 5,500 feet. As we left 98% of the snow was melted on the trails and there was patc...

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
Did GPS Joe have a bright yellow (non-breathable) rubber rain jacket? I took a pic and recorded the GPS poiunts. I'll upload them later. Ken, thanks for the beta and please do post pic with waypoint and I'm pretty sure (Gabriele will hopefully see this and confirm or deny) he did not own nor do I t...

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
I did a bunch of trails today. I might have found a clue (or not). At 6.19 miles from the Mormon Grovve TH, on the Sheep Creek trail, I found a yellow rain jacket. It was wet and stiff like it's been out there for a bit. It wasn't sun destroyed, it looked it hasn't been out there for the summer. Did ...

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
There's also the Sheep Creek Cabin which is 2.75 miles (As the crow flies) west of the Sheep MNT peak. It's near the intersection of the Sheep creek and the Sears trails. It's about 1,500 freet off-trail in a canyon.
I don't know if it's still standing or not.

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
The DeLorme / Spot combo is worth the money. It allows you to send 10 pre-defined messages and custom (.50 per) messages to list of pre-defined people. It also sends every message three times and gives you a success/fail status. It’s also has a user upgradeable firmware. The new DeLorme is also is v...

Re: Missing hiker in Mazatzals - gpsjoe (Joe Domin)
I just got back about an hour ago from the Mormon Grove Th. We drove in and was stop by the sheriff and the 201/25 split. He was OK with us going to the Mormon Grove TH. We hiked the Sheep Creek trail to where the Spine of Sheep MTN almost touched the trail. I was thinking if Joe got to the Summit a...
