Looking for 1-5m backpack in, destination fishing.
My GF and I are looking for a backpacking hike that is maybe a 1-5 miles (shorter hike = more 12oz cans), with a fishing hole as our destination. We are looking for some solitude if possible. We probably don't want any official campgrounds as that means there is a road in. I'm not even sure if there...

Re: how much water for Havasupia Canyon?
Sounds good everyone... I appreciate the feedback. I think i've decided to take a frozen lemonade down in the nalgene to start for a nice treat upon arrival.
Anyone ever take beer down there? It's always so nice to crack open a cold on upon arrival though...

Re: Question on How to Search for Hike here
Thanks for your help guys... I like the following for White Tanks: http://hikearizona.com/location_g.php?X=3 or there is the Flash Map for the Supes... I wasn't sure if those were special of something that I can find for any of the trails that you have listed by drilling down somewhere. Does that he...

Question on How to Search for Hike here
So I am only a few months going on HAZ, but absolutely love it. Question on how to use something or find a link. And I have read through the FAQs and I can't find the answer. :) So I have seen a few people post links to 'areas to hike' similar to that on the homepage for the White Tanks, and other a...

Re: What GPS unit would you recommend?
Garmin 60CSX with 10GB MicroSD... Why 10Gb? No idea, i had an extra laying around. Don't think i'll ever utilize the space as it doesnt' really support it. I use some 24k maps I found on another site. The ones here made it run too slow. I might try them again some day. Plus the load for them was cra...

Re: Organizing your GPS files (tracks and waypoints)
This has been really helpful guys! I really appreciate it. I think one of my dilemas was whether I should keep them all on there or not. I like the idea of keeping it clean. I like the idea of organizing folders by Utils, Topos, then Tracks. Within Tracks, having like HAZ Trails and My trails. I rea...

Organizing your GPS files (tracks and waypoints)
I have a 60Csx and the geek in me is starting to get stressed about how to organize my files. So what I've been doing for awhile is simply marking waypoints for my car camping spots and various spots throughout AZ. Now I've got some tracks that i'de like to keep as it's trails that i have either don...

Any Hikes around Crown King?
I am 4-wheeling up the backside of Crown King early May and would like to do a hike somewhere close to crown king. We won't be into town until probably 2-3pm, so I think I want a short hike if possible. Any ideas? I would like to backpack in and stay overnight, then come back out the next day.
