Just kidding! Hi Guys.. I am a newbie and was hoping for some of your expert advice.. I live in Sedona and would like to do a 2-3 day jaunt in the high country(somewhere between payson and utah).( preparing for Nepal trekking) I do have a guide book but its old ( 2008) and am hoping for some up to date info. I seek quality hiking, moderate to easy would be lovely, a reliable water source and no hiker eatin' bears.
Thank you kindly for any offered advice.

There are bears on the Kaibab Plateau! Cute (or perhaps terrifying if you're afraid of bears) story here: http://www.gore-tex.com/blog/visitor-da ... ona-trail/

@taragolden In all seriousness, don't be afraid of bears.

Does it have to be on the AZT? I realize this is an AZT post. But there are so many high country hikes possible to do not on the AZT.

Re: Which section has luxury suites & 4 course vegan meals?
Since you ask about luxury and a certain type of meal option, why not just day hike some moderate to long hikes in either the White Mountains, or around Flagstaff on the Peaks. Lots of potential in both locations, but Flag has more places to dine if you have to adhere to an ideology of eating. Whites, less so. Bears, there may be, but really, is Arizona that overwhelmed with man eating ones?
