Re: Coldwater Fire - Mogollon Rim Ranger District
I came by the fire on 87 this afternoon, saw a FS crew walking along the highway with a drip torch. Seems to be burning the pine needles and not much else. Hope it gets the underbrush and doghair pine.

Re: Coldwater Fire - Mogollon Rim Ranger District
I went to the Blue Ridge Reservoir yesterday. The north bound lane of the Beeline is closed from FR300 for about 3 miles. ADOT has a pace vehicle leading traffic back and forth on the south bound lane. I had to wait about 20~30 minutes for the pace car. The forest service had FR300 blocked off with vehicles and was only allowing fire personal through. It appears that they are doing a prescribed burn on the east side of the bee-line (probably in case the Cold water fire gets to close to the bee-line) . The forest service was using the north bound lane to monitor the fire. There was numerous small fires all the way from FR300 to about 1 mile south of Clints well turn off. All of the FR roads north of FR300 and east of the Bee-line are closed.
Coming back home about 11pm both lanes are open. The smoke is very heavy in this area. The visibility was down to 5 feet at times. The smoke lasted about 6 miles and cleared up about a mile south of FR300. The forest service has FR300 blocked with vehicles still at this hour. With darkness, the fires stands out like a lighters at a rock concert. The highest concentration of fires was around the rim road.

It looks like they have closed the forest in an area bounded by Highway 87, Rim Road 300, and FR 141: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/photos/AZCOF/2 ... 2115-0.pdf
