The last time I hiked West Fork fishing was allowed and there are some nice size browns. We caught 4 about 10 inches (not bad forAz) and since it isn't catch and release had them for dinner. Of course a fishing license is required with a trout stamp. I know there are browns and rainbows, probably brook trout too. The farther back you go the bigger they seem to be. Bring your poles :!:

I've seen a few small brown trout at this spot. Just before the left-hand bend there is a small channel in the stream bed that is a couple of feet deeper than the rest of the bed. If you look close you can see it, it extends out from that break in the wall on the left. I usually see a few swimming in there. I've also seen folks carrying fishing poles out of W.F.

Was that on Oak Creek or the West Fork? I know that there is an area outside the Call of the Canyon that is catch and release possibly a 1/4 to 1/2 mile stretch. If it's the West Fork was this a new sign? I always ask at the pay booth when I hike the West Fork creek and have always been told the only catch and release is on that stretch of Oak Ceek? : Cindy
