My neighbor wants to do this badly so he can get some pictures of it. Probably leave at the usual 5:30am time, but it might be sooner, like 5. We're also gonna try to find the upper ruins, if we can and if we have time. Hoping to get some people who have done this before and have some familiarity with the area.

I have been wanting to do this for a long time but can't seem to ever get any one to go when I tell them where it is, so count me in. I believe Randal Schulhauser knows a lot about the area, having read most of his posts about the Sierra Ancha Mountains, so maybe he will see this and join us.

I've yet to hike this gem due to the rough road and I just have a car again... So if there's still room in one of the 4x4 vehicles, count me in. What do you think the odds are up making it up to Moody Point?

Looks so far like we have a committed group of 6, so we should have room for you vaporman. Looks like for now my neighbor and I are the drivers. we both have room for 3 besides ourselves. if the committed group gets over 8 by sunday, we'll need someone to step up as a 3rd driver. we can worry about that if it happens. Hit the commit button and let's go.

I ran into a huge Mojave rattler on the way up to the ruin. I hope they're hibernating this time of year Also had a black bear visit my campsite early in the morning.

Looks like the departure time from my house will be 5:30am. I'll PM my address to those who don't have it. If you prefer to meet somewhere else, let me know. armorlock, I think it makes sense for us to meet you off of Rt. 60 in Gold Canyon. Maybe the Jack in the Box? Let us know.

Also, my neighbor is bringing another person, so the committed group size is now 9, putting us in the 3 vehicle range. My neighbor has a jumbo Ford diesel 4x4, and may be able to fit the 9th man comfortably in his back seat, but I have a feeling that we'll get some more "committeds" by Sunday. If we get 10 or more, a 3rd vehicle will be necessary. Something to keep in mind.

I'll ride "dog" in the back of the Steelermobile if need be. That will allow me to rifle through y'all's packs for snacks that are better than what I'm going to be bringing.
