Evening Hike

Post by dnrshaw »

Hello everyone! I am a newer member here and this is my first post. I am relatively new to hiking but enjoy it very much. I am looking for some evening hikes around the valley, easy to moderate. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks! :D

Here's a 100 to get you started
Depending on what part of the valley I'm sure others can narrow it down

North Mountain is a nice, easy night hike for a beginner. Good views too.

:welcome:

I do a lot of my night hiking at the Phoenix Preserves. All the trails there -- save the Squaw Peak Summit Trail -- are open to dogs. Lots of trail-linking options there as well. Sunrise Mountain in Peoria is nice too. Awesome sunsets there.

I go hiking at these places (and others) every Thursday evening with a couple beginner/intermediate girls. You're welcome to join us if you'd like. Just shoot me a message if you have any interest. :)

Check out the Mercury Mine Loop. You can park on Mountain View Road if Dreamy Draw Park is closed for the evening.

dnrshaw - what kind of puppy is that on your avatar? Looks a lot like my Monty (though he's all black and ornery...)
