help! finding adventure this weekend
Hi, I have a friend coming into town (who took great lengths to get work off, etc) that is expecting a great AZ adventure. I was going to take him to Devil's Chasm - but this weekend the weather looks horrible. We have Sat, Sun and early Monday morning. Any ideas, considering the weather? I didn't want to let him down. We can handle most everything - gear and hiking wise. Recommendations?

If the rains pan out the Western Superstitions will put on an unforgettable show. Though beware as while you can drive in to First Water or Peralta trailheads with a car, if the rains go wild the creeks rise and you'll need high clearance to get out.

It also seems as if the storm is focusing on central and northern Arizona, so if you head south and east the amount of rain will apparently be significantly less. (Though it seems pretty likely that there will at least be some rain/snow showers anywhere you go this weekend).
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Depending on the amount of rain, as Teva Master Joes says, the western supes could be quite spectacular. About 10 miles past Tortilla Flats you can run into multiple waterfalls: http://hikearizona.com/photoset.php?ID=11489.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
