Hello Everyone I figure I would start off my first post with a question. Any help advice or ideas are greatly appreciated.
I have been wanting to visit the pools for several years now but something always seems to come up. I have made the attempted visit twice.
The first time I went to far and took the road south of the windmil that comes out on the highway bewteen Superior and Kearny.
The second time last year their was a huge setup of core drills in the middle of the road after you pass the metal gate. The road was all roped off with plastic fencing like it was closed.
Is the road still open or do I need to start the trip from the OakFlats area? Do I need any climbing gear if I just want to visit the first pool, from what I have read it seems that I dont. Are their leeches in the water?
Thanks for any help

Don't let a little thing like leeches stop you...Just pull them off when you get out....

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

Rick might know more on access as he was there in March. You might send him a PM as he may not read the forum.
No gear is required, there are bypasses to the major drops. On the first or second there is a small 12-15 ft slanted drop. There is typically a gnarly rope in place. If not 7mm or webbing is plenty to get by or perhaps nothing for the fearless.
