Re: Horseshoe Mesa Butte
I have not, look forward to hearing how it goes!
Looking at topo from the NW seem"ed" good. SE may be doable. Then after a quick look at satellite directly north appears to be best.

Anybody can make a hike harder. The real skill comes in making the hike easier.

Ok ... have heard W/SW too - so it's probably climbable from almost any side ... will just have to take a good look when I get there! I am also waiting to hear back from a backcountry ranger - friend of a friend - who might know something. Thanks for the input - will definitely report back.

Re: Horseshoe Mesa Butte
The class 4 route is via the ridgeline on the west-facing slope. Does require some hand and toe work. In no way do I consider myself a 'climber' but did get up to the top a few years ago. Author Wayne Tomasi states that biggest challenge is scaling the lowest shelf of the upper Supai block and recommends a rope for the descent (wish I knew this before instead of after. LOL)
