| no partners | | | Took my first trip EVER to Fossil Creek. I've lived here 36 years and have never been. I know now why the USFS has imposed all of the camping and fire restrictions as this is truly an amazing place! The hike down was fairly easy and I picked up a little trash along the way. When I arrived at the dam, a girl that was there with 2 others and her dog asked me if I wanted a beer. She said some d-bags left an ice chest full of ice and beer down there from their hike in the days prior and didn't feel like dragging it back up the trail. I enjoyed a frosty Coors Light and went for a swim. I stuck around for an hour for conversation and headed back up...dragging the now empty ice-chest full of beer cans and other bits of garbage that I collected along the way. Gotta keep AZ clean ya know! |
