Rain up to 80% chance after 11:00 and wind up to 49 miles an hour . We set up our shuttle and were ready to hike about 8:00am.To our surprise the weather was great. The clouds had not showed up yet! This area was different than I thought it would be.Southern Arizona continues to surprise me. The rolling grassy hills and views were great! We passed through Kentucky Camp and checked out the old buildings and relics. Very interesting area. About half way through the hike a few clouds started comming in and the wind was started to blow a little. We ate lunch and checked out the old Morning Star Mine. The clouds started rolling in and the wind was picking up.We picked up our pace from here.We came across a group doing that geocaching stuff and even saw a couple of there caches. We also ran into a guy named Ram from Canada that was hiking from Patagonia to Tucson.A young guy on Spring break, hiking... Cool.We finished up the hike with lots of wind but not a drop of rain. Dave took off for home and the rest of us took Nick back to get his car. Great Hike,Weather, and Company!! We didn't get rained on until the drive back. Thanks to all those who drove and thanks to everyone for another great hike on the AZT!!!!!!!! |
