When I saw the Dragoon exit from I-10 I thought there must be a place to hike nearby. After driving through the town of Dragoon, the only place that I could see that goes towards the mountains very far is Lizard Lane. I could only go up about a mile in my low clearance 2 wheel drive. I parked and started hiking up fr 4216 & 4212, which branch off south of Lizard Lane. Once the road ended, I decided to bushwack up to the ridgeline between the roads and follow it up. I made it up most of the way to the top of the small peak, but turned around at that point because I didn't want to take any more risk since nobody knew where I was. Saw different mining sites on the way up and down. Found out after I got home that Preston had written a hike description for the area. |
