| no partners | | | Again foiled in my hope to hike from Bagley Tank to the Salt River I wandered somewhat aimlessly, climbing a few random peaks just off FR3512. With it supposed to hit 114-115 today it quickly rose past 100 but with a steady breeze it didn't feel oppressive. The only thing that made we want to wrap it up and head home was the prodigious amount of grassy fox-tails getting in my sandals. From my previous explorations, I had expected a hike in a wide rocky wash with little or no fox-tails. At least I wasn't wearing socks so it wasn't as bad as my 5/26 Rockinstraw hike, but it was enough to call it quits for today. |
