With the trail to Lassen closed for maintenance, I went for the next best thing: Brokeoff Mountain. The cliffs and views of Lassen make this a great place to visit. The trail reminded me of Humphreys as it switchbacked closer to the peak. On top, it was a little hazy looking towards Shasta, but otherwise the 360 was magnificent. I decided to check out two of the other points along the summit ridge on the way down. There's some good exposure up there!
