We met Edith from Road Haven RV park a few weeks ago at Barnhardt trail. She suggested Six Shooter Canyon and Vineyard Trails as great hikes. We drove from Mesa to Globe and found the road to Six Shooter Canyon closed until May 15, so opted to do the Vineyard trail hike. We were so glad we did. We found vista after vista overlooking Roosevelt and Apache Lakes as well as many flowers in bloom and the excitement of seeing two gila monsters. We ran onto one other couple that were hiking along the way. The trail is good and the views spectacular. I felt we had to share it with others who might want a hike with terrific views. In addition, we explored the DNR wildlife watering shed and the microwave tower.
