| no partners | | | My brother had a hike planned for the Telephone Ridge Trail, I had done it before but was not in shape this time around. so I thought that I would do some hiking along the forest road while the others went on the trail. We got to the trailhead a little before 9am on a beautiful morning. My brother had also pointed out a side road on a sat photo that led to a turnaround on the edge of the canyon. It was a beautiful morning with a nice mix of sun and clouds. Everything was so green with a moderate amount of wildflowers along the way. After about a mile I found the side road. I enjoyed a nice sense of solitude while walking along it. The road ended at the turnaround about a half mile later. There was one good open view of the canyon for pics. I returned the same way and enjoyed my lunch and relaxed in the shade while waiting for the group to get back. It was a great morning and proved to me that in a pinch a forest road makes a good hiking alternative |
