I decided to keep it closer to home this weekend. This peak has been on my radar for a while to activate. The hike on the trail was nice the spring area beautiful the off trail portion was scratchy and about half way up was heavy with gnats. On the peak the gnats were so bad it was to the point of torment. I only spend about 30 min on the summit due to the gnats. I took some photos ran 40m CW and 2m Phone made the necessary contacts to put this peak on the air for the first time and then headed back down and get out of gnat hell. If it were not for the gnats this would have been a great peak to hang out on but wow it was bad.
