It was a cloudy morning and I was hoping to get out for some good sunrise photos. Settled on Phoenix Sonoran Preserve and parked at the 10th Street Trailhead south of Carefree Highway. It's a small parking area large enough for 3-4 vehicles. Took the Sidewinder trail east to Apache Wash, Ocotillo, and returned on Ridgeback for a nice 4+ mile loop. The sunrise this morning was spectacular! Need to start taking a tripod along for some sharper long exposure shots. Coyotes in the valley between the mountains started howling right at sunrise. I would later capture one of the coyotes with my camera. It was so quite and still this morning I could hear the wings of two crows flying overhead cutting though the air. I was also able to capture a large pack of Trail Mix Hikers as they wound their way along the Ridgeback Trail.
