Technically, I should be at zero AEG since I descended this same trail after midnight on 1/1/15 and I haven't logged my peak hikes at breck. Legs and lungs felt great cross training must be doing it's job because the only hiking I've done this year is kicking steps with snowboard boots for the peak hike in Breck up to 12,600' on powder days for fresh tracks. Pikes Peak has much more snow than I've seen the previous two years at this time despite warm temps. We've had consistently more snow sticking around at our house than previous years. With Sarrah due any time and me off for the next six weeks, I will be staying local more, but am trying to stay in shape for some big hikes after MtnBaby #2 comes. Hopefully, with the snowpack some backcountry skiing as well as some spring riding as well. |
