| no partners | | | Weather looked bad to the east so I went west. Lots of flowers it seems to finally be spring in these parts. Dropped down Crystal into Green Mountain Falls. Took Kirpatrick to Thomas to RTP. The only over lap of this loop was about 100 yards. Temps were just about right and didn't really run into anyone until Piestewa, I mean Thomas Trail where I saw at least 30 people. The last group was a guy carrying a clear plastic woman's shopping bag with his wife and 3 daughters. They didn't have any water or anything between them. Had to wade below Cable Falls and upper Catamount Falls. I can verify both are getting some if not all their water from snow melt. The falls were all roaring higher than I've ever seen. Kind of painful. Skipped Crystal Reservoir because of the weekend crowds and followed another trail that led to the top of Mt. Esther Summit. Nice to get out and get some miles, |
