We took the shuttle bus to the end of its route to hike the Riverside Trail for our first hike. This is a paved tail which follows the Virgin River a little over a mile upstream in Zion Canyon. The maintained trail ends where the canyon narrows to a slot just wide enough for the river. From there you can continue but you must wade up the stream. We chose to turn around at this point. Lots of other folks on the trail even for a week day before schools are out. The views of the canyon walls towering above along the river are spectacular and makes this easy hike very worth while. |
