| no partners | | Decided to drive up to the end of FR 42D at Long Park (2 miles beyond Rustler Park), before leaving the mountains. I had noticed some Border Patrol vehicles head up there earlier in the morning, and two were parked at a point to catch the Crest Trail up to Bootlegger Saddle, while another was at the end of the road where the connector to the Crest Trail at Fly's Park begins. Must be working the Crest Trail, perhaps this is a routine foot patrol these days. Don't know. By the time I got up there around noon, there was already a thunderstorm in action just to the west. Summer rains have been generous in the area.  |
