| no partners | | Wanted to post this one beacause it is the first hike I did while officially becoming a member but never logged it in. Wasn't expecting much flow due to the timing I went but it was my first time in the area and I wanted to scout out a few locations to explore and check the falls in the meantime. Since the water level was not as high there was a lot of mud and I do not exaggerate but I have never seen so many game tracks in my life! Deer tracks everywhere and definitive mountain lion tracks! I tried looking for the gravesite just before the Bull Basin turnoff but could not locate it, I can't wait to get a GPS! On my way back it started to sprinkle and at one point started to rain consistent which made me move a little faster because I was skeptical about the road into Miles Ranch, specifically along the switchback sections where the rock slides are very likely to happen. I saw FriendofThundergods photos of the giant boulders in the road during his trip, luckily someone had cleared them out of the road but it's ineviatble to see more rocks after any harsh weather. Anyway can't wait to make it back for some camping at Miles Ranch and perhaps summit Pinto Peak! |
