Four Peaks came to mind since we were just talking about it last week when we went to Devils Chasm. To get there we took the Apache Trail and for the return we took the much quicker and much bumpier 143 back to Hwy 87.
The hike itself was spectacular as it always is. Weather was perfect and the hike up went smooth and without issue. Up top we took in the views and then a small squirrel decided to come see what we were up to. He came surprisingly close so I tossed him a small piece of bit-o-honey. He seemed to enjoy it.
On the way down I did some rock climbing on the other side of the scree chute. Once up top it was evident that people climb it with gear as there was webbing and a bolt in the rock. Down climbing gave me a brief moment of pause but all went well.
Browns is always a treat. This hike got me thinking that I may be due for another Mother Lode Hike! |
