| partners | | | Headed out to the Pinal Mtns with Whitney & Daniela. Started about 7:30 and went up Icehouse Canyon, it was a little warm on the lower section, but then really nice once we got into the trees. At the top, we went over to Signal Peak, encountering a caravan of hippies driving about a dozen old VW buses down the mtn. There was no way any of them were capable of passing an emissions test. Then we took the road over to Ferdell and took Ferndell Trail up to the top of Pinal, seeing two deer near the top. Then back down, and down Six Shooter for a mile, then Telephone back down to the parking lot. My first time on Telephone, I liked that it was less rocky than Six Shooter, but thought it was a little hard to follow at the spots it crossed the road(?); I think I still prefer Six Shooter even though it's harder on the knees. Great day, and great company! |
