To see him bounce and flip a couple more times over the rocks and down the hill was so scary. I really think if he didn't land on his pack (on boulder) it would have broke his back. Then he hiked 14 miles .
Joe, Bruce, and Ray let me join them on a nice off trail canyon hike. This area was new to me and very cool. Lots of lush vegetation, water, crawdads galore, cliffs, and solitude. Also poison Ivy and a couple Rattlers we avoided. The water crossings were actually refreshing and it really never got to hot. We had to bail out of our last canyon due to time , dry falls, and overgrowth. We did get to see some Elk on our back up route . Always a great time hiking with these guys!
On the way home we stopped at that brewery in pine for burgers, fries, tater tots, and a cold one. Thanks Ray! The weather was great and we sat outside where the local band was playing (Country). The boys don't let me play Country in the car but I'm pretty sure I saw them tapping their feet . Great hike, weather, company, food, and music. Thanks Gentlemen! |
