| no partners | | Mary, Ross and Will along to check out the North Fork off Black Rock, Not! We'd spotted this cut from the north ridge... after exploring w3 last week. It looked impressive.
On this day we encountered a cut leading off to the left (north) early on in the bottom of Black Rock, Not!... id did not look or feel right, but we turned in and up. At least it would be new.
It continued to feel as if we were ascended the wrong cut, but only wrong in the sense of what was planned... the cut was exceptional! Steep... Layered... entertaining under foot and surrounding. We were in for a pure treat...
Over too soon... we climbed out expecting to walk the ridge over and spot the "correct" canyon. Instead, the view was of the main canyon? Moving back along the ridge we climbed to our view from the prior week; we'd been in the correct canyon all morning! Climbed different than it looked... better.
We traversed around into Alamo Canyon... exited down and around into the Forks...
