We followed the cairns up & got to a point that my dog had difficulty -- so, luckily, there was a group behind me that I joined
Two areas required more than just me to get my dog up & down.....so, I would only recommend this for dogs that are hiking with more than 1 person, is an experienced off leash climber (mine is on leash), or that enjoys riding on your back.
Very nice climb up to the Superstition Ridgeline -- only a short distance and 600' more to the summit of Supe Peak....
One of the hikers was having a hard time, so she stayed below. The group didn't want to leave her for too long, so we turned at the Ridgeline to head back down. Supe Peak was super tempting!! But I'm saving it for another day when I have a human and not a canine - better to get my pup safely down with the help of some new friends! Plus I have been there before : )
Our GPS showed 4.1 miles one way to the Ridgeline -- I would imagine it was another .5 miles to the summit.
I need to update my profile pic, as both the huskies on it are no longer with me I have 2 others - Snowy - Dance's with Wolves and Subia - Romps over Rainbows.... Snowy is pictured with me in this post. Cheers all - I should post more of my hikes -- as I get out at least 3 times every week. |
