| no partners | | | Keeping up with the theme of hitting a bunch of local hikes I have surprisingly never been to, I thought I would give Shaw Butte a try. I started at Peoria and 7th Ave area this time. This was a lot like North Mountain, except more rugged. There are no steps, just an incline up the whole way. There were a lot more radio and TV towers here and was cool to explore around. Views up top were great. I love Phoenix. Took the north route coming down and then looped around back south through the small valley. I ran the trail from this point back to the trailhead. Besides the views up top, my favorite part was down in the valley as the trail went through several washes and through lots of vegetation. There were also some good incline/ decline sections that were fun to run through. ... Building up for something big coming soon! |
