I had a few extra minutes and decided to check out one of my favorite places in the area.
Logan Creek Falls is a popular drop for experienced kayakers. It was running a little higher than usual on this day with seven straight days of rain. It's one of those waterfalls where the roar of the water is deafening and you can't hear anything else. You have to struggle to keep your camera dry because the spray is like constant rain.
I love the West when it comes to outdoor adventure, but Virginia has a lot to offer too. In fact, this waterfall is not far from the Grayson Highlands, one of the most scenic parts of the Appalachian Trail. |
