I wanted to make a stop at Sycamore Creek after camping and watching the fantastic Geminid Meteor Shower with the Triple C's (Claire, Chuck and Chumley) off the nearby Cline Cabin Rd.

I was hoping to find a perennial pool or two in a nook of the granite bedrock I was eyeing on satellite but instead found nothing but dry soft sand.

Decent color in certain spots of SC but the lack of reliable water has them lacking the pizzazz of healthier riparian areas I've seen lately.

It was nice to feel temperatures over 65 degrees for the first time in awhile and the cloudless sky just added to the little warmth rejuvenation.
